Writing something eloquent is important to me. Making folks feel appreciated, making them feel seen, and expressing gratitude for what they brought to the effort *IS* important.
I get that it would be weird for me to slide a valentine to some people. Doesn’t mean I’m not happy to have them in my life, though.

Some performances are good. Definitely deserving of applause. Enthusiastic applause even, but they are not superlative. So do you give them the ovation anyway?
